Trophy
Hunters Alberta offers Top Quality Hunting Experiences and
the
Best Hunting Value in Alberta
Together
with our Management Team and experienced Professional Guides, we operate Trophy
Hunters Alberta Inc. ("THA"), providing big game outfitting and guiding
services for non-residents of Alberta. Each member of our 'field team' has an
official Alberta 'Guide's Designation' and our company is an active member of
the Alberta Professional Outfitters Society ("APOS"), as well as numerous other
local and international hunting organizations. We are the predominant outfitter
in Alberta, know what we are doing and get results! Our range of hunts and prices offer
the best variety and best value in Alberta.
At THA, we have the allocations, experience and expertise
to provide you with a professionally run big game hunt, customized to your specific
aspirations and expectations. We have both archery and rifle allocations in some
of Alberta's best big game territories. While we cannot guarantee a 'kill', we
can guarantee a solid effort with qualified guides and a memorable outdoor experience.
Of our 488 allocations, 53 are for moose, 43 are for elk, 145 are for whitetail,
235 are for mule deer and 12 are for non-baited bear. 107 of our allocations are
for archery hunts.
Recent years have blessed
our outfit with particularly successful big game hunting seasons! In 2001, THA hunters harvested 6 book animals, in 2003, 2 book animals and in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006 our hunters harvested 4 book animals each year.
Over the past 4 years, THA hunters have established a legacy of 100% Rifle Mule
Deer primary success with an average of 160 class muleys. We sincerely feel that we have perhaps the best mule deer hunting in
the world in our southern foothills and prairie zones.
We typically experience 100%
opportunity for archery elk, archery whitetail and archery mule deer. To view some our successful hunters, please visit our 'Photo
Gallery'.
Tim Wells, TV Host, Video Producer and Author returned for his 9th straight archery hunt and harvested his 11th P&Y trophy with THA. This year Tim harvested his biggest mule deer yet, a 190+ monster that net scored 184 2/8 and won for THA the aforementioned prestigious honor of ‘Largest Mule Deer, Archery’ on an Alberta outfitted hunt. Tim described his experience with THA: “THA is without a doubt the best outfitter I have ever encountered. I have hunted all over the world and THA is the only outfitter that I continually return to.”
Tim recently released another excellent video entitled 'Relentless Pursuit'. In case you haven't seen 'Lethal Flight', Tim's previous video, it was the best archery video we had ever seen until we viewed 'Relentless Pursuit'.
Tim's TV program, also called 'Relentless Pursuit' and featuring THA on most shows, is now the #1 rated hunting program on the 'Men's Channel' on the 'Dish Network'. We are proud to be associated with Tim and appreciate that someone of Tim's caliber, who can hunt anywhere he desires, continues to choose THA every year for one, or more, of his televised hunts.
As well, we were pleased that Al Kuntz of Al’s Worldwide Adventures joined us for a mule deer hunt. Al has 4 official world records to his credit and is a most discriminating hunter. He has killed many mule deer but never anything scoring 170 B&C or larger. On the 2nd morning of his 6-day hunt, Al nailed his largest muley ever scoring 175+. After his hunt, Al’s comments were: "My mule deer hunt was excellent value and a true team effort. The outfitter, guides, ranch family and community all played a part in my excellent experience with THA. I observed 100s of mule deer daily with 25 to 40 bucks per day. I came as a client and left as a friend and part of the family."
Al also made some wonderful comments about THA in his newsletter to his 30,000+ client base. “Alberta Mule Deer: Most of you will remember that I had a scheduled TV series shoot starting Oct 25th in Alberta for Monster Mule Deer. This was a perfect example of the Outfitter being highly organized, experienced guides & prime private ground to hunt on. Day one we all spotted wall hanger type bucks but no one was in a hurry to fill their tag. Right at dark my guide Wes & I had a chance to view an excellent mature buck at less than 200 yds. Due to the failing light, we backed out of there not 100% sure just how nice he was. We returned to the same area the next morning & after both agreeing that he was indeed a massive old 5x5, I put the stalk on him. After a few minutes of video tape a well placed 300 Mag put him to rest right in his morning bed. The next day we assisted Mike Cooley (President of the Sportsman Channel) in locating his buck. As Mike & his cameraman Lee combed a drainage, I stayed high & watched with the optics for action. You could have knocked my eye balls off with a stick when I spotted a Monster cross the dirt road approx 3 miles away. Even at this distance it was easy to tell this was indeed a shooter. I waited for the buck to bed down in some tall grass & then signaled the group to where the buck was hiding. I stayed high in case the buck moved & video taped the entire scene as they belly crawled to within 45 yds. of the bedded buck. This entire hunt will be televised on the Sportsman Channel in 2007.”
We also were privileged to have Michael Cooley, Founder, President and CEO of the Sportsman Channel join us in 2006. Mike had never hunted mule deer, however, he came with THA to see lots of mule deer and, hopefully, produce a TV show about mule deer hunting with THA in Alberta. Mike brought along his top cameraman and got more than he bargained for. On the 3rd morning of his 6-day hunt, Mike harvested a 176 5/8 class mule deer and is now probably jaded for life. Mike was on the same hunt as Al Kuntz and both muley kills were on video. Watch for a TV program on these two successful hunters on the Sportsman Channel.
In addition to Mike Cooley’s program on his THA mule deer hunt on the Sportsman Channel, watch for the ongoing TV special on the awesome 378 6/8 SCI muzzleloader moose killed on a filmed hunt with THA by well known TV host Dan Parrott. Also catch the two ongoing TV specials of the two double kills of both mule deer (including a 176 class) and whitetail (including a 145 class) on a 3 1/2 day hunt by Ron Koch and Wayne Brensinger, co-hosts of the TV program 'Outdoor Buddies Adventures'. And don't forget the former world record rifle shiras moose killed by Brad Miller that scored 461 7/8 SCI and had a spread of 61 inches!
In 2007, we have Bill Miller, Executive Director of the North Amerca Hunting Club, joining THA on a SW Alberta foothills rifle mule deer hunt that will be one of 16 big game hunting shows that will be produced by the North America Media Group for their annual TV shows. We have already hosted Mark Kayser, Coordinator of the NAHC Bowhunting Advisory Council and NAHC Whitetail Columnist on an archery whitetail/mule deer combination hunt in September that will be an additional production of the 16 NAHC big game TV shows.
Tim, Dan,
Ron, Wayne, Al, Mike, Bill and Mark can hunt anywhere they desire and they all chose THA. Due to
their individual prominence and extensive personal contacts in the field of big
game hunting, these gentlemen have access to research on outfitters not generally
available. They each did their own comprehensive research on where they should
hunt and all chose to hunt with THA.
In 2003, one of our guides bow killed an early season 224 class mule deer which
has been officially recognized as the new Alberta archery record muley. As we
like to say, "If we can get them with a bow, then we should certainly be able
to get them with a rifle".
THA has received multiple awards for harvesting the largest species in their respective categories over the past few years. Each year at the annual Alberta Professional Outfitter's Society Convention, there are only eight awards available to the Province's 450 outfitters for species hunted by THA and the odds of winning any one of these coveted awards is less than 0.23%.
Recently, THA has won the award for the 'Largest Whitetail - Archery on an Outfitted Hunt' on two occasions and the award for the 'Largest Moose - Archery on an Outfitted Hunt' on another occasion as well as the 2006 award for the ‘Largest Mule Deer, Archery on an outfitter hunt’.
Our results speak for themselves. At THA, we know what we are doing and we get results!

record shiras moose, visit our 'Photo
Gallery' with over 1,000 pictures.
If
you are looking for a future hunt in beautiful Alberta, now is the time to get
serious. You will not see us at any shows, as we do not have to attend shows to
sell our hunts. We would be most wary of any outfitter who must continually attend shows to sell their hunts, however, if they are unable to get repeat and
referral hunters then we can understand their reasoning. A large percentage of our hunters
are repeats and referrals. Our reputation speaks for itself.
We
have the experience and ability to totally customize an Alberta hunt according
to your specific desires and expectations. We know what we are doing and we get
results. Due to our size, we are able to offer more flexibility in time, location,
terrain and hunting style than any other outfitter in Alberta.
All of our camps are small and intimate with usually only two to four hunters
and their guide(s) and cook in a camp. We do not operate out of a lodge. Our
many individual camps allow us to provide hunts where the animals are located,
not necessarily where it is more convenient, or more financially advantageous,
for us. Although we miss the cost saving efficiencies of operating out of
a lodge, our hunters end up with a superior hunting experience.
Consistent with our size and prominence in the Alberta outfitting industry, we
are extremely proud of our reputation for honesty, integrity, good value and hunter
success. We can provide any number of references as required. We provide hunts
in 31 different Wildlife Management Units and are thus able to customize all of
our hunts to the specifications of our guests. As a result, we can provide hunts
in a wide variety of habitat and terrain. Our territories start from the Montana
border southeast of Lethbridge, near the Saskatchewan border, and sweep west to
the Rocky Mountains and then north approximately 400 miles (northwest of Rocky Mountain House)
and then east again on a line north of Calgary through Drumheller to the Saskatchewan border. We provide hunting experiences in well
over 25,000 square kilometers of Alberta hunting territory.
We employ some of the best guides in the province. We pay our guides a premium
wage plus numerous bonuses, both for each kill and for size of kill. As a result
of our reputation for honesty and integrity, as well as our hunter success, we
have many quality guides wanting to work for our company. All guides are field
tested before we hire them. Our guides are very experienced and range in age from
18 to 65 years. We honestly feel that our team is among the best in the industry.
In fact, we have employed the #1, #2 and #4 Indoor/Outdoor competitive compound archery
shooters in Alberta as well as the #1 competitive recurve shooter. Our Alberta
#1 ranked compound and recurve shooters are also both #1 ranked in Canada.
Our accommodations vary from large outfitter tents
in our more remote camps through heated motorhomes/travel trailers, B & Bs, ranch houses and cottages on rivers to hotels/motels in small
towns and villages.
Transportation is typically 4x4s and hiking but can
also include horseback ATVs, jet boats and even snowmobiles, if
necessary. Our scouting, hard work and experience, combined with serious hunters,
produce results.
We have meat-processing
services available throughout our hunting territories and excellent taxidermy
services are available in Calgary. Pick up of your meat and head/cape from camp
is included in our hunt price.
Other than
your licenses and a discount priced rental car, we have no additional, or hidden, charges such as trophy fees.
We are now actively booking our remaining 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 camps and
would like to work with you to plan and customize your next hunt.

Also at this time, we have good flexibility
