WESTERN CANADA MOOSE RUT HUNTS

Trophy Hunters Alberta offers big game rut hunts on large tracts of crown land starting in mid September to the middle of October. We hunt moose using various methods to attract the moose to our hunters. If one method is not working, we can change the plan and/or location as required.

Archery Hunts

We offer 6-day archery moose hunts in both WMU 316 and WMU 330, two excellent moose areas. WMU 316 utilizes either a remote trailer camp utilizing a motorhomes and travel trailers to provide all the comforts of home or the more rugged outfitter tent camp. ATVs are used to aid hunters gain better access to the hunting areas. We only offer archery moose hunts during the annual rut, as that is the most productive time for an archery hunt.

Remote Trailer Hunts

We offer remote camp motorhome/trailer hunts west and slightly north of Calgary in the Waiparous and Hunter Valley areas in WMU 412, WMU 414 .

Gary Poynter, a very experienced, hard working Alberta moose guide, is currently the senior guide on these hunts. We operate these 6-day camps during two consecutive weeks with a maximum of only four hunters per camp including 2 guides and a full-time camp cook.

Remote Tent Hunts

We offer remote tent camp moose hunts in the rugged remote foothills area of west-central Alberta in WMU 339, during the first half of October. WMU 339 is a several hundred square kilometer productive moose zone with a one week hunt for only 5 hunters.

We utilize numerous large tents, usually interconnected. The guides and cook are located separate from the hunters for hunter privacy. The central area is for cooking and eating. Each tent has its own wood stove. We provide several ATVs in camp and usually a 2-hunter jet boat to allow us quick and easy access to this prime hunting area. The camp is limited to only 5 hunters and at least 3 guides and a full-time camp cook who is also a licensed guide.

Accessory Hunts

Hunters have the option of adding whitetail and/or mule deer to these hunts, if hunts are booked early.
